Everything in life has a price. We must expend something in order to gain something else.
There are times things happen outside of our control, but more often, it is our own actions and choices that produce a ripple effect in our lives, its impact spreading out to touch the lives of those around us.
Social media costs time.
Fast food costs extra calories.
Notifications cost focus.
Financial debt costs peace of mind.
Every decision we make brings about a consequence, be it positive or a negative. Some consequences are weightier than others. Some more permanent. It’s wise to measure the cost of our actions so their results align with our values and priorities.
Choices matter.
We must choose carefully.
What is the cost of inactivity? It’s high.
A sedentary lifestyle often decreases a person’s bone density and muscle mass, resulting in overall lost of strength. Tightened hip muscles can make movement and other simple, daily tasks difficult. Lack of regular physical activity increases risk of heart disease, stroke, Type 2 diabetes, and some cancers. As for the financial cost, insufficient physical activity is associated with $117 billion in annual health care costs. And what of the emotional stress it adds to family?
Small Group Personal Training does require financial investment, but what its return value? Freedom to move. Strength to be active. Opportunity to participate in life, not just be a spectator.
That’s a choice worth making.
