Monday’s sometimes feel magical. Why? Because it’s a clean slate. That can be a good thing…and not.
When we make a decision to start a new project or a new exercise routine, often our human tendency is to wait until a “predetermined appropriate starting point.”
Think about it. Why do we have New Year’s Eve resolutions and not July 4th Resolutions? We want to wait for a Monday or the first of the month or for whatever moment is in our minds that symbolizes a new beginning.
When you’ve gone off course with a chocolate in the middle of the afternoon, do you reset at the next meal? No, you’ve already failed for the day, so you continue to eat poorly until you can begin again…tomorrow.
Our “start on Monday” mindset is counterproductive! By delaying action, we’re missing out on benefits that happen whether it’s a new day or not.
The truth is, re-starting in the middle of the day sets us up for success because we’re acknowledging that change doesn’t happen in perfect linear line. It’s more like three steps forward, then two back before getting ourselves moving forward again.
So if you’ve been waiting for a sign to restart, this is it!


Start. Today.
It’s never too late to start!
It’s also never too early!!
